Erick Slabaugh was born and raised in the Seattle/Shoreline area. He joined his parents' company, ABSCO Alarms, Inc. in 1984 as a shipping and receiving clerk. Since then he has worked his way up the ladder to become CEO and majority stockholder. He has held the following positions: Inside Testing Apprentice, Drafting, Field Apprentice, Journeyman, Lead Journeyman, Technical Manager, Sales, Sales Manager, General Manager and, currently, CEO. Erick has a National Independent Certification of Engineering Technologies (NICET) IV rating in Fire Protection Systems-Fire Alarms. He is Seattle certified for all fire alarms, and has maintained his Washington State Low Voltage license. Erick has attended and passed numerous factory-training classes. He is a member of the Friends West fire distributor organization. He participated in, and graduated from, the three-year MIT-Inc. Magazine Birthing of Giants program, class of 2002. Erick has been a member of the Entrepreneurs' Organization since 1997, and served on the EO Seattle chapter board as Treasurer, Forum chair, President-elect and President. He also chaired the highly successful 2001 YEO International University held in Seattle. Erick is married to Sarah, his lovely and energetic wife. They have two active boys, Erick-Jacob (EJ), born in November 2002, and Evan, born in October 2005.
