ALEXANDRIA, VA, July 23, 2007 – The Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) is pleased to announce the hiring of Robert “Bob” Strade as EO’s new Managing Director. Mr. Strade comes to EO from the World Presidents’ Organization (WPO), where he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer for nine years.

“Bob brings a strong portfolio of skills and experiences to EO,” said EO President Shelby Scarbrough. “He is well versed in our strategic relationships with the World Presidents’ Organization (WPO), the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and the Healthnet Foundation. I believe Bob will bring many new and rich resources that will enable member leaders to create innovative and dynamic programs with and for fellow members.”

Mr. Strade was selected for the Managing Director position following an exhaustive search. With St. Louis-based EO member Mark Lincoln serving as interim Managing Director during the search process, the EO Global Board conducted rounds of interviews with highly qualified candidates and then asked Mr. Strade, as the top candidate, to participate in further detailed testing. Ultimately, the Board concluded that Mr. Strade was a great fit and the ideal person to help EO accelerate into the future by turning the organization’s long-term vision into day-to-day realities.

Prior to joining WPO in 1998, Mr. Strade served as Executive Director of the Office of Association Relations at the United States Chamber of Commerce. Before joining the Chamber in 1995, he was Director of Executive Employment Services with the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). He served concurrently as the Director of ASAE's CEO Center, spearheading the organization's efforts to provide exclusive products, programs and services to its 8,000 chief staff executive members.

Mr. Strade assumes his new position effective today. “I’m really looking forward to joining the EO team. It is a well-oiled machine with clear direction and an important plan, and I’m thrilled to be a part of that,” he said.
